Custom Plugins
Custom WordPress & WooCommerce Plugin Development
I build custom WordPress and WooCommerce plugins for features no off-the-shelf plugin covers — booking and CRM systems, custom content types and admin screens, pricing rules, API integrations and AI features. The code is clean, documented and yours, and built on WordPress's stable hooks so it keeps working through updates.

Plugins I’ve built
- A bespoke clinic plugin that powers a US behavioral health provider’s website and its Canadian sister site.
- A 15-division content system for a community-services organization, so each division has its own structured pages managed from one admin.
- A salon booking platform combining appointments, CRM, shop, stock and reports in one dashboard, backed by an automated test suite of 509 checks.
- Retail + wholesale pricing for WooCommerce, used by two brands.
- Index Sentinel, a free WordPress security and SEO-spam plugin, and Order Shield, an open-source WooCommerce fraud-prevention plugin.
When a custom plugin is the right choice
Choose a custom plugin when the feature is specific to how your business works, when you’d otherwise need several plugins to get there, or when the feature is critical enough that you want full control over it. Keeping the feature in a plugin — not in the theme, as the WordPress Plugin Handbook recommends — means you can redesign the site later without losing it. More on WooCommerce development.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Who owns the plugin code?
You do. You receive the full source code, and there are no licence fees or lock-in. If you ever work with another developer, they can continue from clean, documented code.
Will the plugin keep working after WordPress and WooCommerce updates?
I build on WordPress's and WooCommerce's stable public hooks and APIs, avoid editing core or other plugins, and test on staging before updates go live. Plugins on a care plan are re-tested after major updates.
Can you fix or extend a plugin someone else wrote?
Yes. I start by reviewing the code, then fix what's broken or extend it. If it's beyond saving, I'll explain why and quote a clean rebuild.
Can the plugin be published on WordPress.org?
Yes, if you want it to be public. I follow WordPress.org's coding and security standards; my own Index Sentinel plugin is built the same way.
