The Challenge
The clinic already had a US website. It needed a Canadian site for its Vancouver practice.
The content had to change for Canada. Phone lines, privacy rules and crisis resources are different. US-only pages, like bill payment and US job forms, had to go.
The new site also had to stay easy to update.
The Solution
I set up a separate WordPress install with its own database. Then I forked the clinic's custom plugin for the Canadian site.
I rewrote programs, services and admissions as data-driven pages. I replaced US crisis lines with Talk Suicide Canada. I turned the HIPAA page into a Canadian privacy notice.
US-only pages were hidden, not deleted. The site stays private from search engines until the clinic approves launch.
The Results
The clinic now has a dedicated Canadian website. It shares the trusted design of the US site.
Visitors find six programs and six services in clear menus. They can request an assessment in a few steps. Crisis support is visible on every page.
Staff update content without touching code.
What I Built
This mental health clinic website serves Citizens Behavioral Health Canada, an outpatient practice in Vancouver, BC. People can explore care, check admissions and request an assessment online. Here is what I built.
- Six program pages. They cover child and teen care, adults and seniors, substance use, families, crisis care and group therapy.
- Six service pages. Assessment, psychotherapy, psychiatric follow-up, telehealth, community support and insurance each have a clear page.
- Admissions and assessment requests. A simple admissions page and an online request form guide new clients.
- Crisis information on every page. A Canadian crisis line sits in the top banner, so help is always one glance away.
- Canadian privacy notice. A privacy page explains how personal health information is handled.
- Data-driven content. A custom plugin renders programs and services from structured data, so updates stay consistent.
The result is a mental health clinic website that feels calm and trustworthy. It works well on phones, where most people search for help.
