WooCommerce Development: Custom Stores, Wholesale & Integrations
Through custom WooCommerce development, I build and improve stores that sell more and are easier to run: custom checkout and product features, retail and wholesale pricing in one store, payment, courier and CRM integrations, and speed work. I write custom code instead of stacking plugins, so your store stays fast and you own everything.

Custom code or plugins: when should you build?
Use a plugin when the feature is common, well maintained and fits how you work — payments, basic shipping, SEO. Build custom when the feature is specific to your business, when three plugins would be needed to do one job, or when speed and reliability matter at checkout. A focused custom plugin does one thing, loads only where it’s needed and has no licence to renew. It is built on the hooks and APIs described in the WooCommerce developer documentation.
Retail and wholesale in one store: how it works
For LumiKids, a kids’ fashion brand, parents buy single items while shops buy in bulk at trade prices. Instead of a second store or a stack of wholesale plugins, I built one custom plugin: approved wholesale buyers see wholesale prices applied on the server, everyone else sees retail prices, and customers sign up with their phone number because that’s how their buyers prefer to shop. Read more on WooCommerce wholesale and B2B.
What usually slows a WooCommerce store down
- Too many plugins loading scripts on every page, including ones the page never uses.
- Large, unoptimized product images and no modern formats such as WebP.
- Slow database queries from filters, related products and old transients.
- Page-builder layouts that add heavy markup to every product page.
- Hosting without proper caching for a dynamic store.
I measure first, fix the biggest causes and show you the before-and-after numbers. See WooCommerce speed optimization.
Updates and hidden problems
WooCommerce updates often. In October 2026 a store I look after suddenly showed “no shipping options available” at checkout right after an update: its custom checkout hides the country field, and the new version stopped filling in the store’s default country, so no shipping zone matched. I traced the cause, added a small safe fix outside the main plugin and confirmed all three shipping methods were back the same day. That’s the kind of problem a careful developer — or a care plan — catches before it costs you orders.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How much does a custom WooCommerce store cost?
Fixes and speed work start at around $300, custom features or plugins at around $800, and a complete custom store at about $3,000. The final price depends on the number of products, custom features and integrations, and you get a fixed quote before work starts.
Can WooCommerce handle wholesale and retail customers in one store?
Yes. I set up separate price tiers, minimum quantities and approved wholesale accounts, so retail shoppers and trade buyers use the same store but see the right prices. Wholesale prices are applied on the server, so they can't be seen or changed in the browser.
Why custom code instead of plugins?
Plugins are great for common features, but stacking many of them slows the store, causes conflicts and adds licence costs. When a feature is specific to your business, a small custom plugin is usually faster, more reliable and cheaper over time — and you own it.
Can you fix my existing store instead of rebuilding it?
Yes, and that's often the better choice. I start with an audit of speed, plugins, errors and checkout, fix what matters most, and only suggest a rebuild if the foundation really can't be saved.
Do you work with Elementor?
Yes. I work inside existing Elementor stores, and I also build lighter custom themes when speed matters most. We decide together based on how you want to edit the site.
How do you make sure WooCommerce updates don't break my store?
I test on a staging copy before anything goes live, keep custom code in a plugin that's independent of the theme and use WooCommerce's stable hooks. On a care plan, updates are tested before they reach your live store.
